Camp Sheldrick
Camp Sheldrick is located in the municipality of North Dundas in Eastern Ontario and is a half hour's drive southeast of Ottawa. Winchester is the nearest town for last minute shopping, only 8 minutes north of the camp. The camp has water access to the Nation River (via Hess Creek) for canoe tripping. The camp is 55 acres in size, with groomed sites on the south side of Hess Creek, which flows through the site, and wilderness camping coming soon on the north side of the creek. Each groomed site has its own fire pit. At our campground, you can enjoy the outdoors for all ages and group size. Being one of the few Scout Camps in Eastern Ontario that is fully off grid that requires you to follow the Leave No Trace camping experiences, it is a hidden gem in Scouts Canada's Property Portfolio in partnership with South Nation Conservation. Water is not provided at Camp Sheldrick, so you must bring it with you, or pick up jugs at Foodland back in Winchester.
Camp Sheldrick is well known for large group camping. Our sites can handle a small group of 10 guests to large groups up to 500. Our open field layout allows for all tent sizes and group needs.
