At Camp Sheldrick, we are well known for large group camping. Our sites can handle a small group of 10 guests to large groups up to 500. Our open field layout allows for all tent sizes and group needs.
PROGRAM FIELDS
Camp Sheldrick is known for its open field space not just for tenting but for program and activities spaces. With over 53 acres available for all sorts of program needs our field spaces are managed and groomed regulaly. We even have field space that we designate as insect research areas. These areas are left for putrefy and other flying insects to help re pollinate farmer fields around us. These fields are typically only groomed 2 times a year.
HEATED CABINs
Heated cabin (with propane) with 28 Bunk beds, 24 for youth, 4 for Adults in separate areas. Our other Cabin we use for Training and emergency space for winter camping needs.
ACTIVITIES
This is a 4-season camp that groups can book and run their various program ideas, such as, star gazing, kite flying; meeting/training spaces; day hiking; terrain is suitable for self-provided canoeing, kayaking and cross-country skiing; nature center; plant/animal identification; survival training/overnight;
Conservation activities; snowshoeing (with rental ones on site); snow-shelter building.
PAVILLION
Camp Sheldrick has many buildings covered meal and program spaces. Our 60’ x 40” pavilion with lights is our main dinning space and program cover on those wet days.
Our 2 smaller pavilions 14’ x 16’ one is at our North end of the field along the South Nation River and out second one along the creek in a forested area are great for small meeting planning or break out spaces.
KYBOs
These washrooms are as close to off grid as you can get, other than the bare necessities and a leaf. The kybos have two stalls per unit, and are currently the only two on site, with more to come. These well maintained kybo's are just a reminder of why we love the great outdoors.
