Camp Updates
Over the course of the summer, some of our next project phases and some housekeeping
has been accomplished. For one, the solar panels have been installed, and connected.
Currently, the pavilion is fully wired, having converted the existing lighting to 12V LED lights.
We currently have holes drilled for our hammock tenting site that
is being established this month. The trails on the northside of the camp have been bush-hogged,
which will help to clear back growth
New! The Gear Shack
Camp Sheldrick is pleased to share that it is expanding its group support this Scouting year by bringing resources to the groups and families that support Scouting. Instead of just offering resources to you when at Camp Sheldrick, we want to offer them for use for weeknight programs or adventures elsewhere. As we get things together, we want everyone to know this is a support option we are offering if needed.
We are currently setting up our booking page and will share once live. The plan is to make camping gear available to families who might not have all the gear, either when joining scouting or are not able to afford all of it. This is a resource that most scouters have always helped out with, but we wanted to help out as well. Gear that we currently have available to rent include:
- Backpacks
- Sleeping Bags
- Bedrolls
- Mess Kits
- Flashlights
These items can be booked as a package or separately to help the youth not feel left out.
For program gear we have:
- Snowshoes
- Stoves
- Tents
- Compasses
Soon, we hope to be offering camera packages, to help capture your adventures or
for Astronomy programs.
Please remember that all camps have different resources that you can book
as well, but most are for on-site only as they are fixed resources or can
be a lot of work moving it around. If you do have a need for help until
our page is up please PM us and we can see how we can help out.
